Working Principle

The rain sensor is usually in a closed circuit state.When more than 3mm of rainwater hits the

sensor,the internal water absorption plate expands and quickly cuts off the circuit of the irrigation system solenoid valve within 2-5 minutes,preventing the valve from opening the water flow.Once the rainwater has fully dried,the switch will close again,allowing the timer to function normally.

 

When the rainfall does not exceed a certain value,the  wire  is  in  a  conductive  state
 

When the rainfall exceeds a certain value,the wire is in a disconnected state


 

 

Installation Method

Install the rain sensor on the eaves or any flat surface,such as walls or fences,to receive rainfall.To extend the lifespan of the wires,it is recommended to add corrugated pipes to protect them.Keep the rainfall receiving end upright and avoid placing it within the spraying range of the rain shield or sprinkler,which may affect the normal operation of the sensor.

 

Connection Method

 

Connect oneport of the wire to the C    prt(or   common   port)of   the   controller, and  connect the other  port to the  R
port  (or  sensor  port).
 
 

 

Adjust The Ventilation Volume

When more than 3mm of rainwater hits the sensor,the expansion of the internal suction plate will quickly cut off the circuit from the controller to the solenoid valve when adjusting,the ventilation volume.After the rain stops,theinternal water absorbing plate will graduallyreset to close the circuit.By adjusting theventilation ring on the rain sensor to changethe size of the ventilation opening,the resettime of the water absorbing blade can beshortened or extended.Opening the air ventwider can shorten the reset time of the watersuction plate.lf you are in a windy or sunnyarea,it is recommended to turn down theventilation opening 
The reset time of the sensor after rapidresponse is approximately 4 hours in the dryand sunny environmentReset time when the sensor is completelydamp:approximately 3 days in the dry andsunny environment
 

Test Method

 

Manually  press  the  protruding  spindle  of the  rain sensor,and you will  hear a  "click" sound  from  the  solenoid  valve  head,and the  watering  area  will  immediately  stop   watering.If   inconsistent,check   if   the
wiring  is  correct.There  is  no  need  to
perform  a  'wet  test'on  the  rainfall  sensor.
